We are currently looking for someone to join Parker Sales UK as an Account Manager to develop Parker Sales company business into the Mobile market for the Materials Handling Industry. You will be responsible for Material Handling and some Agricultural market segments. This is a home based role, reporting to the Mobile Sales Manager, Construction, the successful candidate will be responsible for -

  • Development of sales within this market segment through direct sales to the OEM's and any indirect sales for the MRO market via dealerships.
  • Maintaining and developing sales within the existing customer base.
  • Identifying and developing new customers.
  • Assisting in innovating new products for the market requirement.
  • Developing new market segments and areas for sales.

THE PERSON

Self-motivated, enthusiastic and disciplined self starter with excellent communication and negotiation skills required. You will have an engineering or fluid power background and ideally be educated to HNC level or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate account management skills and experience in the field sales environment. You will ideally have a sound knowledge of the Mobile Market, specifically the Materials Handling industry and a working knowledge of the products typically used within these segments. A basic knowledge of the Microsoft products and Lotus Notes is required.

You will be responsible for collecting, analysing and evaluating data supporting the UK Sales company price to resistance strategy. You will proactively lead the analysing and make recommendations considering customer value-based marketing, competitive markets, and Company costs affecting the business plan and profitability.

Analyse the products and markets determining the ceiling and floor prices of products.

Work with the distributors on appropriate list prices and standard discounts, manages rebates and manages any restructuring, updates, communication and publication of price increases.

Provides management with reports. Perform ongoing measurements and reporting on pricing effectiveness. Recommend and implement strategies to improve pricing performance.

QUALIFICATION / SKILLS -

  • Degree level qualified in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field with 3 years or more experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Excellent P.C. skills with advanced Microsoft Exel and Access skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Project management skills with sales/marketing experience a plus.
  • General understand of manufacturing processes, practices and cost accounting a benefit.
  • Must be able to maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping pricing information confidential.

Duties to include: Respond to technical sales enquires from customers, distributors, internal sales and Field sales. Prepare and issue quotation documentation. Give first tier technical support, maintain good relationships with customers, maintain documentation files within the department receive orders and document in the correct procedure. Coordinate retail prices and product information from divisions setting up part numbers where applicable, answer all technical and pricing queries working with and alongside the strategic pricing manager, undertake some customer visits as and when required.

For the first 3 months this position will require frequent visits to other Parker locations with overnight stays on a weekly basis. Training and development is the number one priority in this position, working as part of a team.

A strong willingness to learn is key to this role as the Sales Company will offer product training on all Parker products, computer training where required, personal development and a chance to help grow and develop Parker Sales UK along with offering premier customer service.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A number of years experience in a technical sales environment
  • Strong Pneumatic and / or Hydraulic Filtration knowledge, ideally educated to level 2 City & Guilds as a minimum
