March 2012 was a record breaking month for hydraulics in the UK with provisional results for the BFPA monthly hydraulic survey indicating an extremely high level of shipments to both the industrial and mobile sectors making the first quarter of 2012 a particularly strong one for the hydraulic industry. Early indications are that March was also a good month for pneumatics, with provisional results from the BFPDA monthly survey suggesting that March was also a very strong month for both hydraulics and pneumatics distribution in the UK. The ONS Index of Production figures for IOP 29: Manufacture of Motor Vehicles and Trailers and IOP 28 Manufacture of Machinery & Equipment both increased in March.

The 2012 Salary & Benefits Surveys, Power Packs and Screw In Cartridge Valves Surveys will be carried out among members in May / June.
